Like many contemplatives, the Ven. Sr. Clare Isabella Fornari (+ 1744) found joy in pondering over the secrets Most blessed Trinity, especially of the Word taking human nature in self-emptying love: But I still must end this account of the holy Gospel of St. John, who adds: "Verbum caro factum est, et habitavit in nobis – the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us”. By these last words he intends to teach us that the divine Word was in the bosom of the Father for all eternity, for all ages enclosed, so to speak; in the fullness of time, however, he is found outside the Father's bosom, that is, he is likewise in the womb of the mother… and he is our brother: "the first—born among many brothers".
