From the memoirs of Sister Mary Agnes, the last novice to be invested by Mother Maddalena: Mother Maddalena always called and signed herself Mother Mary Magdalene. She loved her name because of what St. Mary Magdalen was--a sinner, the beloved of our Lord. Reverend Mother had such a special love for sinners and the fallen. Often, she would say to us, we cannot condemn, we would not be where we are, if not for the mercy of God.
