One of her nuns said of Mother Maddalena:
Her exterior modesty and silence were a continual incentive to all the Sisters to practice virtue, since holiness seemed to emanate from her personality. She often instructed us, ‘With silence we can acquire interior recollection and union with God.’  Often, when I conversed with her, I felt nearer to God.
