SAINT CAJETAN – Saint Cajetan was a friend of Blessed Maria Longo, the foundress of the Capuchin Poor Clares in about 1533. He took their community to heart, and he “sculptured those souls with the skill of a jeweler.” He wrote: “We must be always grateful to Jesus Christ. He has offered himself to be our food. How wretched is the man who knows nothing of such a gift! I want you to surrender to Him, that He may welcome you and, as your divine Savior, do to you and in you whatever He wills.” - Office of Readings for August 7th
