Saint Alphonsus di Ligouri, the founder of the Redemptorists knew the Poor Clares of Nocera Inferiore, Italy, quite well. The visits of the saint became more frequent after he resigned as bishop. His Redemptorist convent in Nocera was near the monastery of Poor Clares. One wonders how often he came to preach or to give spiritual guidance. His, The True Spouse of Jesus Christ contains in written form the reflections of a lifetime: “During Holy Mass we can obtain all the graces that we desire for ourselves and others … Now when you ask any grace during the Mass, Jesus … offers in your behalf the merits of His Passion.” - page 703
