From Mother Mary Maddalena’s Memoirs regarding St. Clare:
And to crown all her desires, the Sovereign Pontiff, Innocent IV, issued a Bull by which he ratified the approbation of [Clare’s] Rule by Cardinal Raynold and thus put the solemn seal of the Church's sanction upon the Rule of the new Order. This took place August 9, 1253, just three days before the blessed death of the Saint. (See also August 30th)
