January 22, 1962, was the death of our founding abbess, Mother Mary Stella, of the Evansville monastery.  She was one of the last novices to receive the habit from Mother Mary Maddalena in the Evansville monastery.  Mother Mary Stella was present at our groundbreaking on February 16, 1958.
