A nun who knew Annetta (the future Mother Maddalena) recalled Annetta’s prayer as she tried to discern God’s will for her: Her love for silent prayer and seclusion was so great that for hours she would remain kneeling alone in the chapel; also how she prayed and how much she suffered interiorly while endeavoring to decide what religious order to embrace.
