Pope Eugene IV appointed Father Francisco de Soria as special Visitator of the Poor Clare monastery of Tordesillas, Spain, on this day in 1432. The monarchs of Spain had monasteries founded in Spain, and sometimes royal personages lived there or, as sometimes happened, were buried in the public chapel of the monasteries. The mother of Emperor Charles V (Juana La Loca, “the Mad”) was buried in the Poor Clare church of Tordesillas.
