You asked why God delights in causing us to suffer. Do you, then, no longer know that it is an honor? Pray that He give us the grace to endure, but never that He take suffering away from us, I have asked for crosses, and I am content to have them.   It is better to have crosses than consolations; these I yield in the meantime to God in order to possess them in paradise; but here let me have crosses and crosses without end.
