When Father Miguel Pro and his brother were put to death in Mexico during the Mexican Revolution, their brother Roberto was still in prison. Roberto had been saved by a last-minute reprieve by Calles, but his two brothers had already been before the firing squad. Father Pro was laid out in his priestly vestments at home, with a pyx laying on his body. The mourners gathered around the two slain martyrs, silently adoring the Host present. The Host was intended for Roberto when he was released from prison.
