The foundress of the Poor Clares in the United States, Mother Maddalena, consecrated herself to the Sacred Heart. The following is an excerpt from that consecration: May the mercy of my God triumph over His miserably unworthy, sinful daughter, by drawing her heart to Him, transforming her into Himself, giving her His cross, His suffering, His love. May the only bond to hold her bound to this earth be the Most Holy Eucharist, so that, living in exile, she may not live but out of love for her God, and that from the holy abode of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which from this moment on she chooses.
