From the memoirs of Sister Mary Agnes, the last novice to be invested by Mother Maddalena:
On August 15, Reverend Mother called us young professed Sisters to her cell at 1 o‘clock and talked to us about our vocation, admonishing each one to strive earnestly to be good and saintly Poor Clares, in observing our Holy Rule and the Constitutions of the Order. She thanked each one individually for the little kindnesses we had done for her during her illness. She blessed each one of us and promised to pray for us. She also exhorted us to be faithful in love and charity, to bear with one another, she then sank into a coma and never again spoke in this world.
