It was on this day in 1535 that  Pope Paul III gave canonical approval to Blessed Maria Lorenza Longo to observe the Rule of St. Clare under the direction of the Capuchin Franciscan friars.  It is said of Mother Maria Longo that “she received Communion often, and after Communion she was absorbed in deep recollection.” – Agostino Falanga, O.F.M.Cap.
