. Saint Leopold Mandić, the great Capuchin priest who prayed fervently for the reunion of Christendom, frequently prayed the Mass for this intention. “I must correspond with Our Lord Jesus Christ’s goodness who deigned to use my minister’s mediation in order that the divine promise may come true: There will be but one flock and one shepherd. I said: ‘By the mediation of my office’, because I say Mass to this purpose: that the divine Charity be offered for our Separated Brothers that their redemption be accomplished.” - Saint Leopold, a Franciscan Friar, is called the “Saint of Unity,” since he ardently desired the reunion of East and West in the Church. (November 12th is ordinarily the memorial of Saint Josaphat, another promoter of unity.)
